We clean and inspect gutters twice a year through our ISG maintenance plan, once in spring and once in fall, or as a one-time service whenever you need it.
Why Gutter Cleaning Matters for Boise Homes
Rain gutters do one job: move rainwater off your roof and away from your foundation. When debris builds up and creates a blockage, that job stops. Water pools, overflows the gutter lip, runs down your siding, and saturates the soil next to your home. Over time, that overflow causes fascia rot, siding staining, basement moisture, mold growth, and foundation damage that costs far more to fix than a seasonal cleaning.
Clogged downspouts are especially damaging because the water has nowhere to go. Pressure builds in the gutter system, joints pull apart, and the entire run can separate from the fascia during a heavy storm. Keeping gutters clean is the most cost-effective maintenance a Boise homeowner can do to protect their property.
Boise's Debris Seasons
The Treasure Valley has two heavy debris seasons that make gutter cleaning essential for most homes:
- Spring (May to June): Cottonwood fluff and pollen drop can pack gutters in a matter of weeks. A spring cleaning after seed drop keeps the system open through the rainy season.
- Fall (October to November): Leaf drop from deciduous trees fills gutters fast. A fall cleaning before temperatures drop below freezing prevents ice dams, standing water, and winter overflow that can pull aluminum gutters off the fascia.
Homes near pine trees in the Boise foothills or on heavily landscaped properties may need a mid-summer check as well. Roof grit from asphalt shingles accumulates year-round and is abrasive inside the gutter channel. Pine needles are particularly damaging because they pass through gutter screens, pack the downspout, and are slow to decompose.
What We Do During a Gutter Cleaning
Our professional cleaning process covers more than debris removal:
- Full debris removal: We clear leaves, pine needles, dirt buildup, roof grit, and any other material that has collected in the gutter channel.
- Downspout flush: We flush every downspout with water to confirm flow is moving freely all the way through and that drainage at the outlet is directed away from the foundation.
- Condition inspection: While we are on the ladder, we check for loose or missing hangers, pitch problems, joint separation, and early signs of a leak or rust. Small issues caught during a cleaning are inexpensive repairs. Left alone, they become gutter replacement jobs.
- Cleanup: We take the debris with us or bag it on-site. We do not leave a pile of wet leaves in your landscaping.
Signs Your Gutters Need Cleaning Now
- Water overflows the gutter edge during rain instead of flowing to the downspout
- Plants or weeds growing from the gutter channel
- Staining or streaks down the siding below the gutter line
- Sagging or pulling away from the fascia board
- Insects, birds, or rodents around the gutter area (debris provides nesting material and standing water for mosquitoes)
- Mold or mildew on the exterior wall below the gutter
- It has been more than six months since the last cleaning
Gutter Cleaning Cost in Boise
Most single-story homes in Boise run $100 to $175 for a standard cleaning. Two-story homes and larger properties run $150 to $275 depending on linear footage and debris volume. We provide an exact price before any work starts. If we find minor repairs needed during the inspection, we quote those separately so you can decide. There are no surprise charges on the invoice.
Our ISG Maintenance Plan covers two scheduled cleanings per year at a reduced rate. We handle the scheduling, send reminders, and only bill after the work is complete. No upfront payment, no auto-renewals.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Twice a year for most homes, once in spring after seed and pollen drop and once in fall after leaves come down. Homes with heavy tree cover, especially cottonwoods and pines, may need a mid-summer check as well.
What happens if I never clean my gutters?
Clogged gutters overflow during storms, which can damage fascia, siding, and your foundation over time. Regular cleaning is far cheaper than the water damage it prevents.
How much does gutter cleaning cost in Boise?
Most single-story Boise homes run $100 to $175. Two-story homes and larger properties run $150 to $275 depending on linear footage and the amount of debris. We give you an exact price before we start, and any repairs found during the inspection are quoted separately.
How long does gutter cleaning take?
Most single-story homes take 45 minutes to an hour and a half. Two-story homes or homes with a lot of debris or complex rooflines can take two to three hours. We include a condition inspection and downspout flush in every cleaning, which adds a bit of time but means you get a full picture of your gutter system's health.
Do you clean downspouts too?
Yes. We flush every downspout at the end of each cleaning to confirm water is flowing freely from the gutter all the way to the outlet at ground level. If a downspout is packed with debris and a flush does not clear it, we snake or disassemble it to remove the blockage.
Can clogged gutters cause mold?
Yes. When gutters overflow, water runs down the exterior wall behind the gutter. That moisture soaks into wood, siding, and insulation and creates the damp conditions mold needs to grow. Keeping gutters clean and draining properly is one of the most effective things a homeowner can do to prevent exterior mold issues.
What are the signs my gutters are clogged?
Common signs include water pouring over the gutter edge during rain, streaks or staining on the siding below the gutter, gutters sagging or pulling away from the fascia, plants growing from the gutter channel, and insects or birds clustering near the roofline. Any one of these is a reason to schedule a cleaning.
Do you offer gutter guard installation after a cleaning?
Yes. After a cleaning we can give you an honest recommendation on whether gutter guards make sense for your property. We install micro-mesh and perforated aluminum guards. If your tree cover is light, guards may not be worth the cost. We will tell you either way.
