If you have shopped for gutters at a hardware store, you have seen sectional gutters: pre-cut lengths joined together on site. Seamless gutters work differently, and the difference matters more than most homeowners expect.
How Sectional Gutters Are Built
Sectional gutters come in fixed lengths, usually 10 feet, that get connected with joint fittings during installation. Every one of those joints is a potential leak point, and there can be several per gutter run depending on the length of your home.
How Seamless Gutters Are Built
A seamless gutter is roll formed on site, in your driveway, to the exact length of each run. There is no mid-run joint at all, only the corners where separate runs meet, which is why we double seal every corner miter we build.
Why It Matters Long Term
Fewer joints means fewer opportunities to leak, less maintenance over the life of the gutter, and a cleaner overall appearance since there are no visible seams running down the length of your home. Seamless systems cost more upfront than a sectional DIY kit, but the reduced maintenance and repair costs typically make up the difference well before the gutter reaches the end of its life.
